Sea Kayaking

If you’ve got bored of sightseeing and want to do something fun and adventurous, we recommend you to do sea kayaking!

See ancient city walls from the seaside, paddle your way to Betina cave, hidden cave reachable only by the sea, where you can swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic.

If you are brave enough you can even try cliff jumping! Cliff is about 9 meters high, but be careful because many people end up on their stomach or back and it can be very painful. The worst thing that could happen is that you end up on YouTube fail compilation!

Tour duration is 3 hours but don’t worry! That doesn’t mean you will be paddling for 3 hours! There will be plenty of stops, including one long break at the beach inside the hidden cave. No experience is necessary and it requires low fitness level.

Practical tip: Tour company will provide you dry-bag and a waterproof barrel for all your valuables.  They will also give you snorkeling gear, sandwiches/fruits and if you go on the sunset tour you’ll get a glass of wine. If you ask us, it would be more fun to have a drink before the tour, but unfortunately, we don’t make the rules.

Tour starts from Pile bay, after a quick brief to learn about proper kayaking and safety techniques from your licensed guides.

As you paddle along Dubrovnik’s coastline you get to enjoy a unique view of the ancient city walls from the seaside. The view is spectacular. You will also see Villa Sheherezade, which is popular with celebrities and the price goes up to €7500 per night! Who knows, maybe you spot someone famous on the balcony. You will continue to paddle until you reach Betina cave – a hidden cave with a beach reachable only by the sea. You have around 40 minutes of free time at Betina cave. You can use that time for catching some sun, snorkeling, eating sandwiches…

After you are rested you will continue to paddle around the island of Lokrum.

Be warned! There is a nudist beach on Lokrum Island and it’s quite popular amongst the male population, earning its nickname “Sausage Beach”. So you just might paddle faster and turn your head in the opposite direction when you reach that point of the island.

Your amazing guides will tell you a legend about the curse of the Lokrum Island and a little bit about Dubrovnik history.

While going around Lokrum, you will explore another hidden cave, in this one, you can actually go inside with kayak.

There is an option to do morning, afternoon or sunset tour. We recommend you the morning one because it is less hot and there are fewer people than on the sunset one. You can also rent a kayak and go on your own. Just watch out for speed boats and cruise ships. And sharks. Nothing serious.
Don’t forget to bring sunscreen and a hat with you!
